Job overview
The Veterinary Technician or Assistant, Cardiology role is onsite in Waltham, MA, and is part-time at 20 hours per week. The schedule is Monday and Tuesday, 7:30 a.m.–6:00 p.m., with some holiday coverage. The role supports Angell West, a 24-hour emergency and referral satellite hospital in the western Boston suburbs. Working with veterinarians and hospital staff, the technician or assistant provides clinical and customer-service support for cardiology patients. The role assists with appointments, examinations, procedures, case management, client communication, and accurate medical records.
What you'll do
- Prepare appointment histories and admission packets, including estimates
- set up appointment rooms and handle patients for examinations as needed
- transport animals safely
- return client calls and emails by priority and relay messages to doctors
- schedule recheck examinations and diagnostic imaging as needed
- communicate with clients as directed by the doctor
- complete paperwork and maintain electronic and hardcopy medical records
- assist in clinic, radiology, and other hospital areas as needed.
