Application Engineering Manager

The Application Engineering Manager role is onsite in Schaumburg, IL, with compensation of $140,000–$160,000 per year and approximately 10% travel. The position leads day-to-day operations of an applications engineering organization at a major Chicago-area manufacturing Technical Center. The manager coordinates engineering priorities and resources, ensures customer demonstrations and turnkey projects are delivered, and develops the engineering team. The role combines hands-on CNC and manufacturing expertise with technical leadership to support customer commitments and advanced manufacturing initiatives.

What you'll do

• Lead daily Applications Engineering Department operations
• coordinate priorities, workloads, schedules, and technical resources
• deliver customer demonstrations, turnkey projects, machine validations, training events, and engineering activities
• maintain Technical Center and showroom readiness
• mentor and develop engineers
• support customer visits, presentations, evaluations, and manufacturing assessments
• partner with Sales, Service, Operations, Facilities, Marketing, and executive leadership
• establish engineering standards and documentation
• improve processes
• support recruiting and onboarding
• collaborate with international engineering teams.
