Job overview

The Companion Aid role is onsite in Tuscaloosa, AL, providing in-home assistance. Pay is $11 per hour. Seniors Prefer Homecare provides care and support to clients who may need help because of illness, injury, surgery, or disability. The companion aid supports clients’ physical care and emotional well-being while treating them with dignity, patience, compassion, and respect. The role helps clients with household tasks, personal services, appointments, meals, and companionship.

What you'll do

• Provide light housekeeping, errands, and transportation if needed
• accompany clients to appointments and assist with medications
• prepare meals, purchase food, and provide personal assistance with daily living, including toileting, bathing, feeding, and grooming
• provide financial assistance if needed, such as balancing checkbooks, going to the bank, or helping pay bills
• provide companionship and conversation.
