Nutrition Specialist

The Nutrition Specialist role is based in Sells, AZ, with compensation of $21.11–$26.37 per hour. The specialist provides WIC services at mobile clinic sites throughout the Tohono O'odham Nation. The role supports participant nutrition and health through eligibility certification, assessments, food package selection, counseling, breastfeeding support, and referrals. It helps connect participants with appropriate health and social services and provides follow-up as needed.

What you'll do

• Set up at mobile WIC clinic sites
• conduct nutrition and health assessments, including height, weight, and hemoglobin samples
• document assessments and counseling
• refer high-risk clients to a Registered Dietitian
• promote and support breastfeeding within scope
• provide participant-centered nutrition counseling
• determine and certify or recertify eligibility
• refer clients to health and social services
• support outreach, health fairs, presentations, and food demonstrations
• maintain records and reports
• travel to remote areas to provide services.
