Principal/Senior Principal Software Engineer

The Principal/Senior Principal Software Engineer is an onsite role in Huntsville, AL; telework is not available. Compensation is not specified. The role supports the U.S. Army’s Integrated Battle Command System, which is used to protect the United States and its allies from air and missile threats. Working on Engagement and Track Management Agile Software Teams, the engineer develops and maintains software that integrates air and missile defense systems, radars, and sensors. The work contributes to secure, scalable battlefield management capabilities for Global Command and Control missions.

What you'll do

• Design, develop, document, test, and debug software applications and systems
• participate in SAFe Scrum teams and maintain software across multiple baselines
• develop and upgrade software in multiple programming languages while minimizing changes to tactical software behavior
• update documentation using Markdown and collaboration tools
• support unit and functional testing, code coverage, static analysis, and test automation improvements.
