The Veterinary Technician role is onsite in Fairport, NY. Pay is $23–$28 per hour. The position supports veterinary medical and surgical care for shelter animals at Lollypop Farm. The technician assists veterinarians with examinations, procedures, diagnostics, and recovery, helping provide care to animals during the adoption process. The role also supports medical records, inventory, safety, and service to staff, volunteers, and the community.

What you'll do

• Assist veterinarians with initial health exams, surgical preparation and procedures, dental prophylaxis, anesthetic monitoring, and post-operative recovery
• perform digital radiography and animal positioning
• perform venipuncture, IV catheter placement, and cystocentesis
• conduct laboratory work and prepare samples
• administer medications
• assist with cruelty examinations and forensic necropsies
• work with large and exotic animals
• perform euthanasia
• maintain medical records and inventory processes
• provide customer service
• follow safety rules and maintain housekeeping.
