Technical Director (Metallurgy)

The Technical Director serves as the senior metallurgical leader and technical authority for specialty alloy production at the Cazenovia, NY facility. This onsite role offers a salary range of $170,000–$220,000 per year and supports the Superior Metals Manufacturing team in driving operational excellence. This position exists to provide strategic leadership for superalloy design, chemistry control, and vacuum induction melting processes. The Technical Director ensures product quality and manufacturing efficiency while serving as the primary technical liaison for customers and internal stakeholders.

What you'll do

• Serve as primary technical authority on superalloy metallurgy
• lead and mentor the Engineering team
• provide technical leadership for alloy targeting and specification development
• direct Vacuum Induction Melting (VIM) operations
• lead metallurgical investigations and Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) activities
• drive continuous improvement in yield and process capability
• oversee raw material qualification
• serve as technical liaison for customers.
