The Maintenance Trades Helper role is onsite at Naval Base Ventura County in Port Hueneme, CA. Pay is $21.97 per hour plus $7.45 per hour through the union. SA-TECH supports Department of Defense programs, including maintenance and operations at military test and training ranges. The helper supports small-engine repair and maintenance of marine assets at the base. Working under a qualified technician, the role assists with diagnosing and repairing marine engines, preventive maintenance, equipment fabrication, and vessel support activities.

What you'll do

• Support small-engine repair dockside
• use hand and power tools
• assist in diagnosing and repairing marine gasoline inboard and outboard engines
• follow preventive maintenance programs and technical manuals
• assist with equipment fabrication and parts recommendations
• occasionally serve as a crew member on vessels
• travel to remote work locations and support vessel deployments as required.
