Job overview

The Energy Programs Specialist works onsite in Cranston, RI, in a full-time, 40-hour-per-week position. Compensation is $20 per hour. Comprehensive Community Action’s mission is to empower people and communities facing poverty and social and cultural barriers through advocacy, education, and access to health and human services. The specialist conducts residential energy and appliance assessments and administers energy rebate and appliance programs. The role identifies efficiency opportunities, determines eligibility, coordinates contractors and vendors, and tracks projects and compliance to help reduce energy burden and improve home comfort and safety for low-income households.

What you'll do

  • Conduct residential energy assessments
  • evaluate energy use and identify savings opportunities
  • educate customers about conservation and programs
  • assess appliances and determine replacement eligibility
  • collect appliance data
  • install approved direct-install conservation measures
  • prepare appliance and HEAR work orders and applications
  • coordinate contractors, vendors, and partner agencies
  • maintain records and verify program compliance and project completion.
