The Direct Support Professional (DSP) role is onsite in Cortland, IL, at the Persimmon CILA home in Genoa, IL. Compensation is $16–$26 per hour. Avancer Homes provides in-home care across residential homes in Ogle and DeKalb counties. The DSP assists people with developmental or intellectual disabilities in daily living and supports growth across areas of need. The role contributes to a safe, healthy home environment through personal assistance, household support, monitoring, documentation, and participation in activities.

What you'll do

• Assist individuals with activities of daily living and personal care
• help with household tasks, meal preparation, cooking, and cleaning
• maintain a safe and healthy home environment
• monitor individuals and provide redirection
• document activities, concerns, and progress
• participate in in-home and out-of-home activities, which may include driving company vehicles
• help maintain an abuse- and neglect-free environment.

Why this role

Full-time and part-time positions and all shifts are available. DSP certification or ability to become certified through paid training is required; applicants must be at least 18, have transportation to shifts, be able to lift 50 pounds, and pass a criminal background check. A $1,000 sign-on bonus is advertised.
