What you'll do

• Read engineering drawings and use measuring devices to produce or modify tooling
• repair or request replacement parts and maintain tooling inventory
• set up and operate toolroom machines and hand-tool equipment
• coordinate with specialty machining areas
• apply quality standards and inspection methods
• provide input to Design and Program Management during preliminary review
• coordinate material orders with Design
• assemble final tools to drawings and quality standards
• assist with first samples and suggest tool-readiness improvements
• possibly work with and train apprentices
• troubleshoot, maintain, and repair tools and hot systems.
