Specimen Collector

Job overview

The Specimen Collector role is onsite in Metairie, LA, part-time, with a schedule of Tuesday and Thursday 11:00 a.m.–6:30 p.m., Wednesday 8:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m., and Friday 12:30–4:30 p.m. (23 hours per week). Compensation is $18–$21 per hour. Millennium Health is an accredited specialty laboratory providing medication monitoring and drug testing services to support clinical decision-making. The collector obtains and processes patient specimens, maintains accurate collection and ordering information, and serves as a link between clinics and the laboratory. The role supports reliable laboratory testing and patient service while following privacy, compliance, and security requirements.

What you'll do

• Collect urine and/or oral-fluid specimens
• process and package collections for shipping
• serve as an intermediary between practices or clinics and the laboratory
• record patient, physician order, and laboratory information
• resolve specimen concerns involving billing or patient information
• maintain collection supplies
• observe collections when applicable
• drive between facilities when required.
