Water and Wastewater Treatment Operator in Training

The Water and Wastewater Treatment Operator in Training role is onsite in the Woodridge, NY area, with compensation of $25 per hour. The position supports H2O Innovation’s drinking water and wastewater treatment facility operations. The trainee conducts tests and sampling, records operational data, and performs basic maintenance under direction while developing the skills and certifications needed to become an operator.

What you'll do

• Conduct routine water and wastewater tests, observations, and lab tests
• collect regulatory samples and meter readings
• enter results into logbooks and data systems and report abnormalities
• troubleshoot equipment as instructed and report repairs
• perform maintenance under manager direction
• maintain facility cleanliness and grounds
• track lab supplies, chemicals, and consumables
• respond to on-call emergencies within 60 minutes when scheduled
• assist teammates and train staff as needed
• maintain an assigned vehicle
• follow safety procedures and seek guidance when needed.
