The Medical Assistant — Psychiatry role is onsite in Wichita, KS, with a Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. schedule; staggered shifts may apply. Starting pay is $17 per hour, commensurate with experience. The role supports the UKSM-W MPA Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences Clinic. The medical assistant provides clinical and administrative support to providers and clinic workflows, helping coordinate patient care and maintain efficient, patient-centered behavioral health services.

What you'll do

• Obtain and document vital signs and clinical information
• administer ordered injections and medications
• coordinate appointments, referrals, testing, and follow-up
• update electronic health records
• assist with forms and medical-record requests
• process refill requests and prior authorizations
• route messages and requests
• maintain records and supplies
• and participate in team meetings, training, and process improvement.

Why this role

A medical assistant course through an accredited program is required; current BLS certification is required within 30 days of hire. Certified Medical Assistant or RMA status is preferred.
