Systems Engineering Subject Matter Expert (Part-Time)

The Systems Engineering Subject Matter Expert (Part-Time) role is onsite in Gunpowder, MD, with compensation of $55–$120 per hour. The position supports DEVCOM CBC and work on Department of Defense mission-critical programs. The role develops and reviews model-based systems engineering models, improves interoperability among tools and models, and provides analysis and feedback to government clients. It contributes to systems architecture and lifecycle engineering through requirements traceability, integration, and cross-functional collaboration.

What you'll do

• Develop detailed models using MBSE tools such as MagicDraw/Cameo
• create a centralized configuration management environment and maintain requirements traceability
• apply UML and SysML
• develop frameworks connecting system models, analytical tools, and visualization environments
• perform trade studies, functional analysis, requirements decomposition and allocation, interface definition, and specifications
• collaborate with software engineers, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.
