Job overview

The Controller role is an onsite position in Davis, California, with in-office presence required at least four days per week. Compensation is $130,000–$160,000 per year. The Controller reports to the Chief Operations Officer and leads a team of four to five direct reports at Veterinary Information Network, an independent, member-supported organization serving veterinary professionals worldwide. The Controller leads accounting and financial reporting, maintains reliable financial information and internal controls, and provides analysis to support organizational decisions. The role also develops the accounting team and improves systems and workflows to support VIN’s operations and growth.

What you'll do

• Oversee general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, fixed assets, and cash management
• prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• lead month-end and year-end close
• ensure GAAP and regulatory compliance
• manage internal controls, audits, and tax compliance
• develop budgets and forecasts
• analyze performance and variances
• lead and develop accounting staff
• improve accounting systems and processes.
