Transportation Construction Inspector — Richmond District

Job overview

The Transportation Construction Inspector role is onsite in Glen Allen, VA, serving Richmond and surrounding areas. Compensation is $17.00–$41.97 per hour. ATCS’s Construction Services group is expanding in Virginia. The inspector monitors transportation construction work to verify compliance with contract documents, safety practices, and quality requirements. Field testing, documentation, and progress reporting help project teams track work and determine pay quantities.

What you'll do

• Inspect highway, bridge, environmental, traffic, and facilities projects
• write daily progress reports
• oversee contractor crews for compliance with contract documents and safe construction practices
• perform field tests on concrete, soil, and hot-mix asphalt
• document materials, labor compliance, safety, estimates, work orders, and adjustments
• report site activities and progress to the Project Engineer
• and calculate and determine pay quantities.
