The Information Systems Security Officer — DoD Top Secret is an onsite role supporting the BLITS 3.0 program at Hanscom Air Force Base in North Lexington, MA. Compensation is not specified. The position supports the operation, security, and compliance of the Hanscom JWICS environment and mission-critical classified systems. The ISSO helps protect classified network infrastructure by maintaining security controls, system access, and compliance documentation. The role supports JWICS operations and authorization to operate, responds to security incidents, and coordinates with the site Information Systems Security Manager to sustain a strong security posture.

What you'll do

• Support upgrades, expansion, and integration of the Hanscom JWICS SCI architecture
• implement and monitor network security measures and controls
• respond to security incidents
• coordinate with the site ISSM on ICD 503 and RMF matters and ATO sustainment
• serve as controlled equipment custodian for COMSEC
• support configuration management, site operations, planning, disaster recovery, and network encryption
• advise on SCI network security documentation
• operate and maintain the JWICS LAN
• create and maintain user accounts
• develop CSRDs and SIAs
• coordinate connections and configuration changes
• maintain distribution lists, security groups, access privileges, TCP/IP and Internet services, and file servers
• install, monitor, and maintain communications devices and computer equipment
• test and configure hardware
• support IAO and computer security duties in the SCIF and prepare related documentation.

Why this role

Requires a bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity, information technology, or equivalent, with four additional years of relevant experience permitted in place of the degree; at least 10 years of federal or DoD cybersecurity experience; Security+ certification; and an active Top Secret clearance. The role supports TS/SCI classified environments and requires experience with classified or SCI networks, JWICS, RMF, ICD 503, and ATO sustainment.
