What you'll do

• Observe best practices in classroom instruction and education reform
• Observe Master Teachers and co-teach with teacher-leaders
• Provide in-house substitute teaching coverage
• Support teachers with tutoring, grading, and individual or small group student instruction
• Potentially teach own class of students
• Assist with Enrichment classes, student events, and mentoring
• Participate in summer and school-year professional development and coaching
• Develop teaching skills to become a full-time teacher
• Implement curricula and activities to meet academic standards
• Design and implement assessments
• Use assessment data to refine curriculum and inform instructional practices
• Participate in collaborative curriculum development and school-wide functions
• Provide consistent rewards and/or consequences for student behavior
• Serve as an advisor to a small group of students
• Supervise students during transitions, meals, and after school.

What we're looking for

Education

Bachelor's degree required.

Experience

Prior experience working in schools and/or urban communities is preferred but not required.
