The Medical Technologist / Medical Laboratory Technician, Generalist — Night Shift role is onsite at a critical access hospital in the Pittsfield, ME area. Compensation is $2,140 per week, based on 36 hours. The hospital is part of a health care system serving much of Maine. The generalist performs laboratory testing and phlebotomy as needed, maintains and troubleshoots equipment, verifies specimen handling and quality-control processes, and reports abnormal findings. The work provides physicians with laboratory data used to identify disease and guide patient treatment.

What you'll do

• Perform testing across laboratory areas including chemistry, hematology, transfusion services, immunology, microbiology, serology, and molecular diagnostics
• perform phlebotomy as needed
• match orders to specimens and maintain specimen records
• calibrate and troubleshoot equipment
• monitor quality control
• communicate abnormal conditions
• protect confidential laboratory information.
