Electrical Engineer — Solar Photovoltaic Design

The Electrical Engineer role is onsite in Overland Park, KS; compensation is $90,000–$115,000 per year. The engineer joins ANS, a consulting engineering firm working on clean-energy design and renewable energy projects. The role develops and coordinates electrical designs and technical plans for solar photovoltaic systems, applying engineering principles and codes to address project and site requirements.

What you'll do

• Use PV case, PV Farm, SAM, and PVsyst to design and optimize solar photovoltaic systems
• create PV layouts with other disciplines
• perform electrical blocking and medium-voltage routing
• assist with single-line diagrams
• evaluate design alternatives for constructability, code, and site challenges
• use AutoCAD to produce engineered construction plans and sheet sets
• lead design projects and mentor junior staff.
