Turbomachinery Intern — Spring 2027

Job overview

The Turbomachinery Intern role is onsite in Long Beach, CA, for a minimum of 12 consecutive weeks beginning January, February, or March 2027. Pay is $28 per hour. The intern supports Rocket Lab’s Turbopump team, which owns the design and test lifecycle for the LOX and fuel pumps used in its rocket engines. The intern contributes to turbopump development and design maturation through CAD and drawing updates, data review, and analysis, while working with a mentor and department colleagues to apply engineering concepts and build technical and professional skills.

• Work with a mentor and department employees, apply engineering concepts to real challenges, attend mentor check-ins, and provide progress updates.
