Arborist Trainee Internship

Job overview

The Arborist Trainee Internship is an onsite, field-based role in West Woodstock, VT, paying $22–$23 per hour. The internship begins in Spring–Summer 2027 and supports Davey’s residential tree care work, helping maintain the health and beauty of trees and landscapes. The intern learns alongside experienced arborists, climbers, plant health care technicians, and landscape professionals. Through field work and training, the role develops practical arboriculture skills and introduces students to the service and business operations of a residential tree care office.

What you'll do

• Learn and assist with tree pruning, removal, cabling, bracing, and maintenance
• support tree and landscape installation
• learn safe operation of chainsaws, chippers, and other field tools
• participate in plant health care activities such as deep-root fertilization, soil care, and integrated pest and disease management
• gain exposure to residential tree care operations, client service, sales, management, and leadership fundamentals.
