Food Rescue Warehouse Assistant

The Food Rescue Warehouse Assistant works onsite in Traverse City, MI, and pays $19 per hour. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:15 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. The role supports Goodwill Northern Michigan’s Food Rescue program. The position helps organize, store, repack, collect, and distribute donated food to pantries and partner agencies. It also maintains warehouse safety and cleanliness, tracks food inventory, operates material-handling equipment, and supports vehicle and equipment upkeep.

What you'll do

• Drive Food Rescue vehicles and collect and deliver donated food to pantries and partner agencies
• distribute food through warehouse pickups
• weigh, log, and inventory food received and distributed
• operate forklifts, pallet stackers, and pallet jacks
• assist with equipment maintenance
• maintain an organized, clean warehouse that meets food-safety standards
• communicate with program staff, drivers, and volunteers
• assist with training new drivers, volunteer repacks, and Healthy Harvest gleaning as needed.
