What you'll do

• Interview patients in person or by phone
• register or preregister scheduled inpatient, outpatient, and clinic patients
• maintain admission accuracy and run insurance eligibility checks
• scan documents
• check outpatient orders
• collect demographics and signatures
• verify insurance and notify appropriate staff about incomplete precertification
• determine and request payments
• log payments and prepare recap sheets
• maintain petty cash
• perform clerical tasks and answer patient billing questions.
