The Registered Nurse (RN) — Ambulatory Surgery Center, Pre-Op/PACU role is onsite in Sycamore, IL. The offered pay range is $39–$42 per hour. Hauser Ross Ambulatory Surgery Center provides ophthalmology surgeries that do not require hospital admission, with recovery care provided by nurses. The RN supports patients through preoperative preparation and postoperative recovery, applying nursing judgment and ophthalmic and perioperative principles to individualized care. The role also contributes to safe medication practices, accurate records, patient education, infection control, and effective handoffs across the patient journey.

What you'll do

• Maintain electronic medical records and document unusual perioperative events
• provide preoperative instructions and customized discharge education and follow-up calls
• develop patient-specific plans, advocate for patients, and communicate during handoffs
• apply perioperative and ophthalmic nursing principles, including postoperative care for vision-impaired, sedated patients
• administer medications safely and follow controlled-substance and infection-control procedures
• participate in medication outdate checks and supply inventory
• follow medical emergency preparedness procedures.
