Vendor Account Manager

The Vendor Account Manager role is onsite in Elmhurst, IL. Compensation is $90,000–$110,000 per year. The role supports manufacturing operations by managing supplier relationships, purchasing, inventory, and material availability. By coordinating with vendors and internal engineering, quality, inventory, production, and order management teams, the account manager helps prevent material shortages, maintain production schedules, and improve supplier performance and purchasing processes.

What you'll do

• Manage vendor relationships and communicate about pricing, quality, delivery, and performance
• evaluate supplier performance and identify cost savings and reliability improvements
• partner with engineering on new vendor and part approvals
• manage inventory levels, purchase orders, reorder points, safety stock, and lead times in ERP/MRP systems
• identify and resolve shortages and delivery issues
• coordinate with internal teams to minimize production disruptions
• analyze quotes and resolve purchasing discrepancies
• track supplier projects and escalate risks
• partner with Quality on supplier issues, returns, replacements, and credits.
