Flight Test Engineer Intern, Spring 2027

The Flight Test Engineer Intern role is onsite in South San Francisco, CA, from January through April or May 2027. Pay is $40 per hour. Zipline operates an autonomous drone delivery system that delivers critical supplies, including blood, vaccines, medical supplies, food, and retail products. The intern analyzes flight test data and helps design and evaluate test campaigns for autonomous systems. The work supports system validation by identifying anomalies and performance trends, checking new features, and collaborating with engineers across flight test and development teams.

What you'll do

• Analyze flight test logs using Python, DataBricks, and SQL
• identify anomalies, assess reliability, track trends, and perform regression analyses
• design, oversee, and review software validation and flight test campaigns
• monitor the development branch
• collaborate on system-level requirements
• develop test infrastructure and instrumentation
• maintain documentation, dashboards, and SQL queries
• support or supervise flight operations activities.
