Kitchen Manager

The Kitchen Manager role is onsite in Washington, DC. Pay is $22–$24 per hour. Maman is a French bakery and café serving baked goods, coffee, breakfast, and lunch, and hosting events and brand partnerships. The manager oversees daily back-of-house operations to maintain food quality, safety, and efficiency while supporting profitability and guest experience. The role leads and develops the kitchen team and coordinates with regional culinary leadership and general managers.

What you'll do

• Oversee food preparation, production, and quality standards
• ensure consistent recipes, presentation, and portioning
• maintain kitchen cleanliness
• lead menu rollouts and staff training
• support food execution for location events
• ensure health, safety, and sanitation compliance
• maintain inspection-ready back-of-house areas
• obtain and maintain a Food Handler’s Certificate within one month
• manage monthly inventory and supplier orders
• monitor food costs and waste
• manage and coach back-of-house staff
• ensure scheduling and staffing coverage
• review timekeeping accuracy.
