Cook — Day and Evening Shifts

Job overview

The Cook role is onsite in Hoover, AL. Pay is $16–$18 per hour. The position supports food service for residents of The Crossings at Riverchase, a senior living retirement community. The Cook prepares meals that meet planned menus, standardized recipes, nutrition and portion standards, and applicable food-preparation guidelines. The role also supports safe, sanitary kitchen operations and coordinates with a supervisor on menu planning, care planning, and therapeutic diets.

What you'll do

• Assist with menu planning
• prepare food according to planned menus and standardized recipes
• maintain food quality, nutrition, portion control, quantity, temperature, appearance, and taste
• maintain sanitation and safety in food-preparation areas
• assist with cleaning the cooking area, equipment, and facilities
• consult with the supervisor about menu planning, care planning, food preparation, and therapeutic diets.

Why this role
