Before and After School Program Teacher

The Before and After School Program Teacher role is onsite at school locations throughout the Greater Grand Rapids area, including Lowell, Comstock Park, Caledonia, Middleville, and Grand Rapids. Lead Teacher pay is $17.09–$21.36 per hour; Assistant Teacher pay is $15.21–$19.01 per hour. A $2-per-hour premium applies to staff working both program periods on the same day. The YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids provides before- and after-school programming for children. The role provides a safe, reliable, and engaging environment for children before and after the school day. Teachers support daily activities, supervise children, maintain attendance records, and communicate with families to help programs run smoothly.

What you'll do

• Assist the Site Coordinator with daily lesson plans
• prepare activity materials
• record attendance and arrival and departure times
• provide weekly lesson plans and daily activity information to parents
• supervise children
• assist with parent-teacher conferences as needed
• maintain classroom supplies, equipment, and materials.
