What you'll do

• Assess mothers and infants and provide postpartum care
• support breastfeeding, skin-to-skin bonding, and newborn care
• follow perinatal practices and hospital policies
• participate in maternal and neonatal emergencies
• use SBAR for handoffs and emergencies
• develop individualized care plans
• administer prescribed medications and treatments
• advocate for patients
• supervise and delegate within scope
• document care and education
• follow Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative standards
• assist with discharge planning.
