Staff Electrical Engineer – Satellite Command and Data Handling Subsystem

The Staff Electrical Engineer role is onsite in Westminster, CO. Compensation is $158,000–$189,000 per year. CesiumAstro develops communication systems for satellites, UAVs, launch vehicles, and other space and airborne platforms. The engineer leads development and delivery of the Command and Data Handling subsystem for the Element Satellite team. The role owns subsystem architecture, analysis, vendor and cross-functional coordination, verification testing, hardware delivery, and on-orbit support to help deliver reliable space avionics.

What you'll do

• Direct technical definition, implementation, and verification of satellite avionics
• define and maintain C&DH architecture and interfaces
• conduct make/buy trades
• interface with satellite systems, mechanical, software, and AI&T teams
• collaborate on in-house solutions for performance and manufacturability
• make technical decisions and drive hardware iteration
• design and execute verification, qualification, and acceptance test plans
• prepare technical communications
• deliver spaceflight avionics systems.
