Veterinary Assistant

The Veterinary Assistant works onsite in Lima, OH. Pay is $14 per hour. The role supports the veterinary team at Metz Petz Veterinary Clinics - Shawnee, an EverVet Partner, in providing care to pets and service to their owners. The assistant helps doctors and technicians with patient handling, diagnostics, treatments, and clinic upkeep. This work supports patient comfort and the team’s ability to deliver organized, attentive veterinary care.

What you'll do

• Restrain animals for examinations and treatments and obtain patient weights
• use radiology software and maintain medical records
• take and file digital photos
• run in-house laboratory specimens and prepare samples for outside laboratories
• assist with treatments under DVM/LVT direction
• help monitor anesthetized patients and prepare surgical sites and packs
• keep hospitalized patients comfortable, fed, watered, and clean
• monitor inventory and stock rooms.

Why this role
