What you'll do

• Decontaminate and process instruments, compile sets, count instruments, and record counts
• sterilize instruments, trays, and basins using appropriate exposure and dry times
• prepare instruments for immediate-use sterilization when necessary
• maintain department cleanliness and clean autoclave chambers weekly
• assist with operating-room turnover and terminal cleaning when necessary
• pick supplies and instruments for upcoming cases
• perform diagnostic testing on sterilizing equipment
• evaluate instruments for function and safety
• reprocess instruments for ancillary departments
• identify and log loaner instruments
• maintain the biological incubator and log
• provide technical services in operating room, recovery, outpatient endoscopy, and central sterile as assigned.
