Preconstruction Manager

The Preconstruction Manager role is onsite in Portland, ME. Compensation is not specified. The manager supports DEW Construction’s preconstruction and estimating work, delivering client services from project award through a signed guaranteed maximum price (GMP) and the start of construction. Occasional travel is required. The role leads assigned preconstruction projects, coordinating internal teams, clients, estimators, project managers, subcontractors, and design partners. It helps projects move toward construction with clear budgets, schedules, risk plans, and client-focused solutions.

What you'll do

• Lead preconstruction and estimating processes for assigned projects
• manage and coach the team
• coordinate kickoff and OAC meetings
• develop project strategies, schedules, budgets, and risk plans
• review project documents for budget, standards, and constructability
• investigate site conditions
• coordinate with clients, owners, design teams, estimators, project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers
• support pricing, bid, contract, and project handoff activities
• prepare and review cost-management reports
• maintain preconstruction budgets and report updates.
