The Private Duty Nurse role is onsite in Newport News, VA, with hours varying by client assignment. Pay is $27–$48 per hour. First Day Homecare provides pediatric private duty nursing and other home- and community-based services, with a mission to improve clients’ lives through comprehensive care and collaboration. The nurse provides skilled care under practitioner orders and the client’s care plan, documenting changes and coordinating with the care team. The role supports clients with personal care, monitoring, medication administration, teaching, emergency intervention, and specialized pediatric services as applicable.

What you'll do

• Provide nursing care within the state Nurse Practice Act and practitioner orders
• follow the client’s care plan
• maintain and document orders and changes in the medical record
• provide personal care, monitoring, medication administration, client teaching, and emergency intervention
• provide specialized pediatric services such as tracheostomy care, ventilator management, and tube feedings
• collaborate with the care team and participate in care coordination.
