Locate Technician

Job overview

The Locate Technician role is onsite in Highland Park, IL. Compensation is $22 per hour. Stake Center Locating trains technicians to locate underground utilities and mark them to help prevent damage in the community. The technician receives and processes locate tickets, interprets maps and blueprints, and uses locating equipment and technology to identify underground utilities accurately. The work supports safe, timely utility locating through fieldwork, documentation, and communication with peers, managers, and homeowners.

What you'll do

• Use a laptop to receive, document, and process tickets and email
• read maps and interpret blueprints to determine locating methods and sequence
• use provided equipment and technology to locate underground utilities
• mark locations with paint and flags
• communicate with peers, managers, and homeowners
• follow safety practices.
