Direct Support Counselor, 3rd Shift Front Half

The Direct Support Counselor role is onsite in Marshalltown, IA, and pays $20.50 per hour. The schedule is Sunday through Thursday, 12 a.m. to 8 a.m. The role supports clients living in ELEVATE’s Intensive Residential Support Home. ELEVATE’s mission is to serve members when, where, and how they want and help them make meaningful progress toward their best life. The counselor provides daily support, supervision, and assistance to clients with disabilities and/or mental illness. By supporting personal goals, daily living activities, safety, and community involvement, the role contributes to clients’ wellbeing and progress while maintaining required documentation and confidentiality.

What you'll do

• Treat clients with dignity and respect
• provide health, safety, protective supervision, and wellbeing support
• assist with personal goals, cooking, cleaning, laundry, meal planning, shopping, and personal hygiene
• administer and document medications when certified
• complete shift documentation
• implement behavior intervention plans when warranted
• report abuse allegations, unsafe conditions, and changes in client condition
• accompany clients to appointments and transport them or run errands.
