The Laser/Optical Simulation Engineer role is full-time and onsite at Xcimer Energy’s headquarters in Denver, Colorado. Compensation is $175,000–$225,000 per year. Xcimer’s mission is to develop inertial fusion energy to support global decarbonization and clean power. The engineer develops and maintains an end-to-end digital twin of the company’s fusion laser architecture. The model supports system-level trade studies and sensitivity analyses that help refine hardware requirements, while collaboration and code validation enable scalable use across engineering teams.

What you'll do

• Own the virtual-beamline digital twin of the laser architecture
• work with theory/computation, software, optical, and mechanical engineering teams on architecture, requirements, interfaces, functionality, and modules
• run Monte Carlo simulations and parameter sensitivity studies using high-performance computing resources
• document the system
• develop and enforce unit tests and code validation checks.
