Head of Finance

Job overview

The Head of Finance role is based in Seattle, WA, with a hybrid arrangement of four days in the office and one remote day each week. Compensation is $200,000–$250,000 per year. Avante builds an AI-native benefits intelligence platform to help employees and benefits leaders make sense of benefits and related costs. As the company’s first in-house senior finance leader, this role partners with the CEO and leadership team to guide financial planning, capital decisions, and company strategy. It builds finance systems and teams, supports board and investor relations, and translates priorities into operating plans and measurable targets.

What you'll do

• Own forecasting, planning, financial systems, and business metrics
• build FP&A and accounting capabilities
• steward capital and support board and investor relations
• establish systems, oversight, and controls
• partner with the CEO and Chief of Staff on cross-functional decisions
• translate leadership priorities into budgets, targets, and operating plans
• oversee legal and contracts, administration, and business operations
• use AI in finance workflows
• build and lead the finance and operations team.
