What you'll do

• Assess patients in preoperative, operating room, and postoperative areas
• plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care
• coordinate interventions and document care and patient responses. Communicate patient conditions to surgeons, anesthesia, management, and staff
• carry out physician orders
• educate patients and families
• participate in pre- and post-op calls
• maintain role-specific competencies, including operating room circulating and conscious sedation monitoring
• follow safety, asepsis, sterile technique, and universal precautions. Support emergency care, staff orientation, quality improvement, and center accreditation. Requires a current state RN license, current BCLS, and graduation from an accredited nursing school
• surgery center experience is preferred. Current ACLS or basic EKG/arrhythmia identification certification is preferred.
