Correctional Officer

The Correctional Officer role is onsite in Duchesne, UT. Compensation is $28 per hour. The position supports Duchesne County's jail security and community safety goals. Under the Corrections Corporal's supervision, the officer maintains safety, order, and control in the jail while supervising incarcerated people. The work also supports inmate development and county integrity through consistent application of correctional policies and procedures.

What you'll do

• Inspect jail locks, gates, doors, and perimeter gates
• supervise inmates under established policies and procedures
• observe behavior, search cells for contraband, and patrol assigned areas
• maintain order and apply discipline as needed
• supervise recreation, meals, and transit
• address inmates' physical and medical needs
• process bookings and releases, including property and paperwork
• prepare arrest records and maintain logs and databases
• operate the control room and security systems. Subject to on-call status as needed and rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.
