Optometric Technician

The Optometric Technician role is full-time and onsite in Dearborn, MI. Pay is $16–$17 per hour. The technician prepares clinical information and measurements for eye-care evaluation by taking case histories, conducting visual assessments, operating ophthalmic imaging equipment, measuring intraocular pressure, and using a slit lamp.

What you'll do

• Obtain patient case histories covering ocular and medical health
• measure visual acuity
• perform extraocular muscle motility, confrontation visual field, pupil, color vision, and Amsler grid testing
• evaluate ophthalmic lenses
• perform retinoscopy or manifest distance refraction after measuring pupillary distance
• operate fundus photography, OCT, visual field, topography, and IOL master equipment
• measure intraocular pressure
• operate a slit lamp.
