Home Care Aide

Job overview

The Home Care Aide role is onsite in clients’ homes in Onalaska, WI, and the surrounding La Crosse County community. Part-time and full-time positions are available, with flexible shifts that may include evenings, weekends, and overnight coverage. Pay is $18–$20 per hour; shift differentials may raise the rate to $25 per hour. BrightStar Care provides home-based assistance to help clients live in their homes or preferred care environments. The aide supports clients with personal care, meals, household tasks, mobility, errands, and companionship. The role also includes recording vital signs when needed, observing and reporting changes, and following care policies to promote client safety and rights.

What you'll do

• Provide hygiene and personal care
• prepare meals according to client diets
• take and record vital signs, height, and weight when necessary
• assist with range-of-motion activities, walking, and transportation
• document and report observed changes
• perform light housekeeping and errands
• promote a safe environment and uphold client rights.

Why this role

Training is provided for candidates without experience. Available shifts include 8 a.m.–noon, 8 a.m.–4 p.m., 10 a.m.–3 p.m., 11 a.m.–2 p.m., 4 p.m.–10 p.m., and overnight coverage from 10 p.m.–6 a.m. or 9 p.m.–9 a.m.
