What you'll do

• Set up and operate CNC and manual lathes, milling machines, shapers, planers, and precision grinders
• machine parts to specifications and tolerances
• interpret blueprints and engineering drawings
• determine cuts, tooling, feeds, and speeds
• use precision measuring instruments
• fit and assemble parts
• modify NC programs as needed
• verify quality using statistical process control and other procedures
• follow safety and manufacturing standards. Travel is listed at 10–25%, with train-the-trainer work in Newport News, VA for 2–3 months.
