The Telecommunications Engineer Leader 1 – Mission-Critical AI Data Centers role is onsite in Washington, DC, with compensation of $125,120–$156,400 per year. M.C. Dean designs, builds, operates, and maintains technology and infrastructure solutions for mission-critical facilities and secure environments. The role leads telecommunications engineering from concept through commissioning for high-density AI data center projects. It coordinates cross-disciplinary teams, manages technical risks, and mentors engineers to deliver reliable, scalable infrastructure and project outcomes.

What you'll do

• Lead engineering lifecycle for mission-critical AI data center projects
• validate constructible telecommunications solutions
• coordinate with networking, audiovisual, security, MEP, and architecture stakeholders
• mentor junior engineers
• manage technical risk and compliance with TIA, NFPA, and BICSI standards
• develop design drawings, schedules, cable run-lists, test plans, and quality documentation
• lead technical discussions with clients and field teams
• analyze project data
• improve engineering practices and processes
• support safety, quality, and compliance.
