Groundsperson, Tree and Vegetation Management

Job overview

The Groundsperson role is onsite in Duluth, MN. Compensation is $19 per hour. W.A. Kendall and Company provides vegetation-management services, including work supporting electric utility rights-of-way. The groundsperson supports field crews by clearing brush and trees, handling materials and equipment, and cleaning job sites. Safe work practices, traffic protection, and communication with coworkers help protect the crew and public while work is underway.

What you'll do

• Follow and help enforce safe practices
• clear debris and undergrowth using hand tools and gas-powered chainsaws
• load and unload logs, brush, and debris and feed brush into a chipper
• use hand lines to lower limbs and equipment
• clean job sites
• carry, prepare, and store materials and tools
• set up and break down road signs
• flag traffic
• drive trucks or operate equipment as assigned
• perform basic equipment maintenance
• perform storm work as needed.
