Outpatient Coding Consultant

What you'll do

• Review medical records and assign and sequence diagnosis and procedure codes
• assign discharge disposition
• abstract and enter coded data for hospital reporting
• communicate documentation improvement opportunities and coding issues
• maintain required coding and APC accuracy
• track continuing education credits
• attend education meetings
• communicate with coworkers, management, and hospital staff
• follow AHIMA ethics and HIM policies.
