Software Engineer (Front End)

The Software Engineer (Front End) is an onsite role in Chantilly, VA, with an annual salary range of $100,000–$125,000. The engineer will build the user-facing application layer of a new product from the ground up. System High supports sensitive national security missions through protection and security solutions. This engineer will establish frontend architecture and development patterns while delivering production-ready application features and reliable API integrations. The role contributes to a maintainable product by collaborating across engineering, product, and quality teams and using AI-assisted tools with independent technical review.

What you'll do

• Design and build the frontend application from the ground up
• establish scalable component, routing, state-management, performance, accessibility, and maintainability patterns
• translate product requirements and UI/UX concepts into responsive features
• integrate frontend applications with backend APIs
• contribute to framework, library, architecture, testing, and development-standard decisions
• collaborate with backend, AI/technical, QA, and product teams
• work with GitHub and CI/CD workflows
• use and validate AI-assisted development tools
• create lightweight scripts or utilities where useful
• deliver iteratively through Agile/Scrum
• participate in code reviews, planning, estimation, and continuous improvement.
